The area of Mecklenburgischen Seenplatte wurde inhabited since the last ice age.
So there is little that we from the early history of
region of Mecklenburgische Seenplatte know.
There is much to see in Müritzeum or the museum in Treptower Tor or in the Franciscan monastery in Neubrandenburg.
But if a traveler by bicycle or on foot is on the way,
he finds but some witnesses who are older than Christianity in Mecklenburg.
These include in Müritzregion the Bronze Age megalithic graves and tumuli, grooved stones and sacrificial sites.
Bronze Age megalithic tombs are limited in Germany to the north.
Later came to 500 u.Z. added Slavic city walls and after 1200 u.Z. urban ramparts.
Interesting is also the nature. The church ruins Schossow, Dambeck Domherrenhagen, Kissow
, see the accompanying and supervising parishes
Rambow, peace community Neubrandenburg and Bülow. Also interesting
are the ramparts and parts of the wall in Neubrandenburg and Penzlin
Friedland / Meckl. , Malchin and Altentreptow.
And of course there are beautiful and restored manor houses and
Locks the Duke family of Mecklenburg-Strelitz and Mecklenburg-Schwerin.
Sadly make but also the problems with objects that are waiting for their future.
And boulders of the largest in northern Germany to the boulder by the wayside are beauties
in gelogisch youngest region in Germany,
which arose after the last ice age about 20,000 years ago.
Of course, should the over 300 churches in the great circle Mecklenburgische Seenplatte will not forget.
